Subscribers to i-channel will automatically receive various content, such as news, weather, entertainment reports, sports news and horoscopes, delivered to the phone's standby screen as telop text. By pushing the i-channel button, a channel list will appear and the user can select the channel they want to view. Mobile Handsets today have features that let us say the persons name and then the phone dials the number. Sony Ericsson handsets voice reconition technology lets you record a keyword or keyphrase for variouse functions such as "call too" then it beeps and you would say for example "home". Wireless Search could make use of this type of application on handsets effectively. GPS units use voice reconition technology for maps and directions. This type of feature included with handsets will be a great use for wireless search industry for the reson of ease of use and functionality. Consumers who are mobile, that may be driving down the road or have their hands tied up simply have to speak keyword="Search" for "Directions" or "Shopping Mall" and results would appear accordingly with the first close in distance of mileage from your location to the last being furthest point of destination. This would be a great feature for Location Based Services. Wireless Search will take many forms and be developed around research and business models. I think Voice Search would be a step in the right direction especially when it comes from the consumers point of view."

Future Wireless Technology

Wireless advancements are developing ten-fold.
